Moon - "Rain Forest"
I cannot understand the reasons
and the criteria by which some major labels sign such bands. There are
so many great groups out there that stay totally unknown, and some others
like this one, are promoted as the next big thing in the hall of classical,
melodic and even virtuoso/symphonic hard rock/metal. Yeah, whatever you
say... The kids come from Japan, and that means that they have studied
this style of music for good. Also, they have issued two more albums before
this one (which had some success and which will be reisssued with bonus
tracks, in case you're interested), and that means that they're no newcomers.
Ok, their sound is good, their playing is nice, too... but it would be
better, for both us and them, if they knew how to compose an impressive
and effective melody, instead of just copying Blackmore, Malmsteen, Dio
and, at some times, Purple and Royal Hunt. This album suits to the fanatics
of this style and to them only, all the others should check bands way superior
in that certain style of music, like e.g. the mighty Ten.
